Fascia: A sheet of fibrous tissue that envelopes the body beneath the skin, and also encloses or seperates muscles and groups of muscles.

Gray matter: Nerve cell bodies and associated unmyelinated fibers are darker in appearance and are called the gray matter.
Ganglia: Aggregates of nerve cell bodies; these cause swellings on nerves.Peripheral nervous system: All nerves and ganglia outside the central nervous system.

Metatarsalgia: Pain in the forepart (metatarsal region) of the foot.

Metatarsus: The anterior portion of the foot between the instep and the toes.
