Morton's Neuroma
.Treatment options

.......................................... The Institute's treatment for a Morton's neuroma involves the release of the deep transverse intermetatarsal ligament where it crosses above the nerve (shown at right).

This relieves the pressure and agitation on the nerve, allowing it to glide with the movement of the foot, and it gives the nerve the chance to heal.

.True Neuroma
If a Morton's neuroma is excised (cut out), the development of a TRUE neuroma occurs.

To treat a painful, TRUE neuroma, the neuroma is resected and implanted into the deep muscles of the arch. This takes the nerve out of a weight bearing region, into a quieter region where it will not be subject to weight or compression.
